Latest release of powerful rendering tool for architects and designers focuses on ease of use with streamlined UI

Chaos Group has released V-Ray 3 for SketchUp, a brand new version of the professional rendering tool for architects and designers. The new release features a ‘clean and simple’ user interface, with quick presets and streamlined controls. However, with a full suite of creative tools, Chaos Group says the software can render anything from quick design models to detailed 3D scenes.

“Our users want as much rendering power as they can get, but in the most streamlined form possible,” said Corey Rubadue, VP of AEC and Design at Chaos Group. “V-Ray 3 for SketchUp has been rebuilt from the ground up to make the entire user experience simpler, so anyone can create professional-level renders on day one.”

V-Ray 3 for SketchUp includes a full suite of tools for lighting, materials and rendering. Now, any natural or artificial lighting scenario can be created with built-in light types, a physical sun and sky system, and HDR environments. For realistic interior scenes, these tools can be paired with V-Ray’s global illumination methods, resulting in what Chaos Group describes as the most accurate representation of light possible.

V-Ray 3 for SketchUp is built around a twin-engine rendering architecture that is built to take advantage of the latest CPU and GPU computing technology.

New features include a material library with over 200 drag and drop materials; V-Ray Swarm, a powerful, scalable distributed rendering system; a Denoiser to automatically remove noise and cut render times by up to 50%; and one-click VR to render VR-ready content for popular virtual reality headsets.

Other features include V-Ray Clipper for creating quick cutaways and section renders; Aerial perspective to quickly add realistic atmospheric depth and haze; and the ability to create realistic grass, fabrics, and carpet with V-Ray Fur.
