Updated tools designed to cater to the needs of the architecture, engineering, construction, and building owner community

Ideate Software has enhanced its Revit software add-ons to support the workflow challenges of its customers, as well as making its tools compliant with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Ideate BIMLink allows Revit users to pull information from a file into Microsoft Excel, then push BIM data back into their Revit models. New features include the ability to edit data in the program (no longer need to export it to Excel first) and the ability to edit the revision sequence of a revision cloud.

Ideate Explorer, a model browser that can be used instead of the standard project browser, is designed to help Revit users keep their models clean and accurate and reduce time spent on model management. New features include the option to pre-define the importance of all 915 Revit warning types; the ability to search for specific warnings and edit multiple warnings at once; the option to gather warnings data only when the Warnings tab is active; and the ability to see when a project has exceeded a specified number of warnings.

IdeateApps is a suite of nine Revit tools designed to increase the productivity of the entire project team. Ideate ReNumber, a tool designed to quickly update element numbers and names, now supports multi-category rules, while Ideate ViewCreator, which allows users to create multiple Revit views at the same time based on smart rules, now better handles visibility and graphic override conditions when duplicating plans by level.

Other apps in the suite include Ideate SpellCheck, which allows users to check data that Revit doesn’t, and Ideate Align, which allows users to align all plan views in a set so they will synchronize ‘perfectly’ across all sheets.

Finally, Ideate Sticky, which is said to combine the ease and flexibility of an Excel spreadsheet editing with the convenience of a sticky note, now includes the ability to move or rename project folders in Windows Explorer and maintain Ideate Sticky pathing. Other new features include the ability to access Excel files that are part of an Autodesk BIM360 project and compatibility with some previously incompatible Excel files.
